Although people seek counseling with me for a variety of reasons, the great majority of the people I have worked with ultimately end up discussing relationship concerns at some point. Relationships are so crucially important to us. We were built for relationship and when our relationships aren’t going well (or we feel we barely have them at all), it can be incredibly stressful and discouraging.
Our lives typically do not go well
when we are having difficulty in
relationships. Relationship issues that
aren’t dealt with can absolutely lead
to other problems in life, including
experiencing anxiety or depression.
Negative or absent relationships can
even lead to physical health problems.
The issues that we can face in relationships are many because we have so many types of relationships! Parents, friends, partners/spouses, children, other family, bosses, coworkers…For most of us, we are interacting with multiple people a day. We have all of our differences to navigate. We have the lenses that we have developed through life that sometimes make communication difficult. Often, the mental health and learned behavior of others causes conflict too, sometimes leaving us confused or frustrated, and wondering how we can resolve it.

I love working with people on all types of relationship issues, including issues with understanding or communication problems between partners, infidelity, friendship and family problems, and managing work relationships.
